Science Students Meet Acclaimed Scientist

The Nash Community College Math & Science Club recently welcomed Jason Brown, a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University, during Meet the Scientist Day. Brown studies ecological, genetic and geospatial analyses to address evolutionary and conservation questions along with behavioral ecology, evolution and systematics of South American poison frogs. Brown shared about his scientific work in the tropical rainforests of Peru and how his academic path and interests led him to become a scientist. He spoke with the students about their academic goals and interest in careers in science. He and his research have been featured by the BBC, The Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and National Geographic.
