NCC Opens Food Pantry

Nash Community College has implemented a campus-wide effort to provide food to students in need. Each week, a list of current food needs is sent for faculty and staff to help refill the NCC Food Pantry. All donations are welcome. “By providing the list of needs each week, I hope employees will pick up a few extra items during their weekend shopping. We know the need exists not only in our community, but on our campus as well. Even one item per week from each employee would impact our students significantly,” Associate Vice President for Curriculum and Chief Program Officer Mike Latham said.

The Student Government Association also held a Food Drive to benefit NCC students in need of food during the holidays and the NCC Food Pantry to support students in need throughout the year. The campus clubs competed in collecting items and the Math and Science Club won. More than 1,200 food items were collected for the NCC Food Pantry during the holiday drive.
