April Job Fair at Nash Community College Welcomes Employers and Job Seekers

Shine your shoes, straighten your tie, polish your resume and remember to smile; it’s Job Fair time at Nash Community College.  Whether you are an employer looking for new hires or someone seeking a job opportunity, Tuesday, April 28 is a chance to put your best foot forward. From 9 am until noon in the campus’ Business and Industry Center, over 60 local employers will be on hand to provide information about their companies and search for potential employees. The event is open to the public and free to attend, so anyone interested in job seeking is advised to come out and take part.  Until April 21, employers interested in participating, that have not yet registered, can do so at www.nashcc.edu/jobfair. Employer registration is free and includes a 3’x6′ table, and breakfast served at 8:30 a.m.

This event is purposely synced with graduation, which occurs in May, in order to help NCC graduates find employment right out of college. It is also beneficial to members of the surrounding community, as it is open to everyone. “Several hires have occurred as a result of past Job Fairs. Nash Community College finds it imperative to host such events in order to be a catalyst for growth in the community, ” stated Michael Coleman, NCC Director of Counseling and organizer of the College’s Job Fair.

Although casual attire is allowed, professional attire is suggested. Those seeking employment should bring several copies of his or her resume or create a free online resume at www.cfnc.org. Also visit www.nashcc.edu/jobfair to view a list of employers already scheduled to attend, and review the site’s tips for success.
