2016-2017 Student Government Officers Selected

President, Alex Martinez

Alex Martinez serves as President of the Student Government Association. He is enrolled in the Automotive Systems Technology program as a full-time student. He lives in Nashville and says he loves his community and its history. Alex is enrolled at NCC with hopes that his instructors see his full potential and will help him reach his goals. He is Vice President of Publicity for the Psychology Club and is also a member of the Gaming Club.

Vice President, Kristi Price

Kristi Price serves as Vice President for the Student Government Association. She is enrolled in the College Transfer Program with plans to graduate in May with her Associate in Arts degree. Her goal is to transfer to ECU to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and land a career in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She says some of her favorite things in life include athletics, church, friends, family, laughing and food (especially Chick-fil-A!). Her favorite verse is 2 Thessalonians 3:3 which she said reminds her “the Lord is faithful.”

Secretary, Tiffany Boswell

Tiffany Boswell is Secretary for the Student Government Association. She is a proud military wife and has a two year old son. Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska she has lived in North Carolina for six years. Her program of study is nursing and she hopes to ultimately pursue a master’s degree or become a nurse practitioner. During her free time, Tiffany likes to spend time with her family and friends. Being a military wife and mom she stays pretty busy. She is enjoying this year as a full time student and SGA officer.

Treasurer, David Reyes

David Reyes is Treasurer for the Student Government Association. He was born in Mexico and raised in Zebulon. David graduated from Bunn High School in 2014. He is a College Transfer student with plans to transfer to NC State where he will pursue a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. David enjoys sports and referees soccer games for area high schools and middle schools. He also serves as a Nash Community College Student Ambassador.

Parliamentarian, Chelsey Blackston

Chelsey Blackston, Parliamentarian for the Student Government Association, is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice Technologies -Latent Evidence. She will be transferring to a four-year institution to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and begin the process of becoming a medical student to reach her ultimate goal of becoming a forensic pathologist. Chelsey works in the College’s Midway Café and has served on the SGA Executive Board for three years.

ECHS Liaison, Cierra Hopkins

Cierra Hopkins is Early College Liaison for the Student Government Association. She is Treasurer for the North Carolina Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association (N4CSGA) as the first Nash Community College student to serve on the board. This is her second year as a member of the SGA. As a “super senior”, she will graduate in May with both her Associate of Arts degree and Associate of Science degree. Cierra plans to transfer to a university.

Public Information Officer, Jeannetta Whitehead

Jeannetta Whitehead, Public Information Officer for the Student Government Association, is the oldest of three girls in her family. She is proud to be part of an Air Force family and has lived in England, Texas, Florida and currently North Carolina, but claims Florida as home. “GO NOLES!,” she says. Jeannetta plans to attend ECU next summer to major in Psychology and minor in Neuroscience. Jeannetta enjoys knitting, crocheting, clay work and gardening. She loves turtles, the beach and her favorite color is kelly green.
