In her role, Dr. Byrd provides support and advocacy for Allied Health and Nursing Programs for North Carolina\u2019s 58 community colleges.<\/p>\n<p>The Nash Community College Associate Degree Nursing graduate pinning ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 7:30 PM in the NCC Brown Auditorium. This time-honored tradition connects past nursing traditions with today\u2019s healthcare professionals. \u00a0Nash Community College&#8217;s Associate Degree Nursing graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Byrd began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She became a registered nurse at Wake Medical Center and later worked at Wilson Medical Center. She served as faculty at Campbell University, Barton College and Walden University. Prior to working at the System Office, Dr. Byrd was a Nursing Administrative Coordinator and House Supervisor for UNC Johnston Health.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Byrd graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Johnston Community College.
