Three recent Nash Community College graduates will continue their collegiate careers at NC State University this fall after participating in the Community College Collaboration (C3) dual admission program.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
A partnership between NC State University and 10 NC community colleges, C3 seeks students with demonstrated potential for academic success based on previous high school or community college performance who exhibit a high degree of motivation and perseverance.<\/div>\n

C3 is open to students immediately after they complete high school as well as community college students who have completed less than 30 college credit hours. The dual admission program is open to students considering any major at NC State. Following completion of the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science or Associate in Engineering degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, participants are guaranteed admission to NC State.<\/p>\n

“Having an NC State advisor during my two years at NCC was extremely\u00a0helpful. They were able to suggest classes that would transfer in to NC State’s School of Social Work,” said Madalyn Witt.<\/p>\n

While enrolled at NCC, the C3 students had opportunities to visit the NC State campus for special activities and programs to network with other C3 students and develop social connections to ease their transition.<\/p>\n

C3 and other NC State representatives also visited the NCC campus during the academic year to meet with students and make sure they progressed toward their goals and stayed connected with one another.<\/p>\n

“C3 has a lot of resources for transfer\u00a0students to assist them with financial aid, degree planning, and housing. These resources were very helpful while going\u00a0through the transfer process,” Witt explained.<\/p>\n
