Fourteen graduates were recognized for completing the program which is designed to provide the information and skills needed for modern firefighting and rescue through a variety of learning experiences and training scenarios. Due to the pandemic, a ceremony will be held at a later date.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">NCC firefighting classes are often taken directly to firefighters through training sessions that meet the specific needs and schedules of local departments and are held in local volunteer and career departments and at training sites throughout the community. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Recruit Firefighter Academy is a para-military program that is delivered over an 18 week, daytime program on Nash Community College&#8217;s campus and at various off-campus training sites. Although all students interested in firefighting, volunteer or career are welcome, the Recruit Firefighter Training Academy is specifically designed to train recruit firefighters currently employed by departments and students who wish to pursue a career as a professional firefighter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The next academy is tentatively scheduled to begin on August 24th.
