Over the course of a month, students collected items from community members, students, faculty, and staff.<\/p>\n<p>Nash County Animal Control Supervisor Matt Ingram was presented the donation.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-12664 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/DSC_0473.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1135\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/DSC_0473.jpg 2880w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/DSC_0473-300x140.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/DSC_0473-768x358.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/DSC_0473-1024x478.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1135px) 100vw, 1135px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Veterinary Medical Technology program curriculum is designed to prepare students to assist veterinarians in preparing animals for examination and surgery as vet techs. Some tasks include collecting specimens; performing laboratory, radiographic, anesthetic and dental procedures; assisting in surgery; and providing proper care for animals and their environment.<\/p>\n<p>Vet Tech coursework focuses on anatomy, nutrition, parasitology, pathology, physiology, radiology, terminology, zoology, office practices, laboratory techniques, dentistry, and small and large animal clinical practices.<\/p>\n<p>NCC students learn practical skills in the college\u2019s modern, spacious training environment that allows for all on-campus clinical training and animal care to be self-contained.<\/p>\n<p>The program is accredited by the Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) as a program for educating veterinary technicians.<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>For more information about enrolling in Veterinary Medical Technology at NCC, please visit www.nashcc.edu\/vmt, call 252-451-8390 or email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dnlawrence146@nashcc.edu\">dnlawrence146@nashcc.edu<\/a>.
