Natalie Brooks<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Natalie Brooks of Nashville has been appointed to the Nash Community College Board of Trustees by the Nash County Board of Education. Brooks is a retired elementary teacher and also served at the college as an instructor in the Adult Basic Education program.<\/div>\n

“My earliest memory of Nash Technical College renamed Nash Community College and its positive impact on the people began with my father attending auto mechanic classes,” Brooks said. “I enrolled in continuing education classes to maintain my teaching licensure, and my mother took childcare classes there to maintain her daycare license. My daughter began her nursing career at Nash Community College.”<\/div>\n<\/p>\n

Brooks fills an unexpired term following the passing of Mary Wells.\u00a0 She\u00a0was administered the O<\/span>ath of Office by Judge Quentin T. Sumner during the regular board meeting held on Monday, October 18, 2021.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n

“As a retired educator and longtime resident of Nash County, Ms. Brooks brings great perspective and a wealth of knowledge to our board,” NCC President Lew Hunnicutt said. “We look forward to her input and leadership as we seek to continue to reach current and prospective students and meet the training and educational needs of this community.”<\/div>\n<\/p>\n

Brooks earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from\u00a0Coppin State University and a\u00a0Masters in Elementary Education\u00a0from East Carolina University. She said she desires to serve at the community college in order to make a positive difference in the people of her community and in the surrounding areas. “My appreciation for the positive impact of Nash Community College is authentic. I relish nothing more than to work collaboratively with other like-minded individuals to create educational, professional and career opportunities for the citizens of Nash and Rocky Mount.”<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
