<\/p>\n\u200b\u200bThe Nash Community College Foundation has announced recent gifts from a longtime friend of the college, Steve Felton, of Rocky Mount.<\/p>\n
Felton, a local entrepreneur, studied Business Administration at Nash Technical College from 1981 until 1983\u200b.\u200b<\/p>\n

Steve Felton in 1982 when Nash Technical Institute became Nash Technical College<\/em><\/p>\n He quickly found his place, grew as a leader in the Phi Beta Lambda Business Organization and later was named Who\u2019s Who in American Community and Junior Colleges. \u200b<\/p>\n Felton’s recent gifts support the enhancement of campus with the installation of a glider at a high-traffic location for students and visitors to enjoy for many years to come.<\/p>\n From left: NCC President Dr. Lew Hunnicutt, Steve Felton and NCC Vice President of Advancement Pam Ballew<\/em><\/p>\n Additionally, \u200bthe donation of a freezer \u200bfor the campus food pantry \u200bfurthers his commitment to helping meet students’\u200b needs beyond the classroom. \u201cI want to be a good steward because many students need assistance,” he said. “\u200bI remember when I went to school, times were tight for me\u200b.”\u200b<\/p>\n From left: NCC President Lew Hunnicutt; Mathematics Department Chair and Professor Dina Pitt, Steve Felton; Associate Dean of Student Engagement Kara Deans; Admissions Officer Michael Stallings and Vice President of Advancement Pam Ballew<\/em><\/p>\n NCC’s food pantry\u200b opened in 2014 to address student food insecurities. \u200bUntil recently, the pantry only provided non-perishable food items.<\/p>\n Felton also was instrumental in the establishment of the Blue Love Fund to assist students with needs beyond tuition and\u200b he continues to provide support and advocate for its efforts.<\/p>\n \u200bIn 2005, Felton joined the NCC Foundation Board of Directors and along with his family established the Steven D.
