To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa provides the\u00a0opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.<\/p>\n<p>NCC&#8217;s chapter was honored with the following awards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Five Star Chapter<\/li>\n<li>Distinguished Honors in Action Award, by theme: &#8220;Resistance \u2013 Reform, Rebellion, Revolution&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Carolinas Hall of Honor &#8211; Lisa Eason, Chapter President<\/li>\n<li>Carolinas Hall of Honor &#8211; Diane Porter, Chapter Vice President<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To be eligible for membership in Phi Theta Kappa at Nash Community College, a student must have completed a minimum of twelve semester hours of course work and must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
