Recruiter Melissa Sykes and financial aid officer LaShawn Cooper assisted the students. It is designed for adult learners to earn a high school equivalency diploma more quickly.\u00a0From the beginning of the boot camp, students receive assistance from transition coordinator, Wil van der Meulen, as they prepare to apply to programs at Nash Community College and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application for additional study following completion of the High School Equivalency.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13838\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_20220308_091526.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"643\" height=\"643\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_20220308_091526.jpg 2448w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_20220308_091526-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_20220308_091526-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_20220308_091526-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 643px) 100vw, 643px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nash Community College\u2019s High School Equivalency Honors Boot Camp was one of nine practices selected nationally in 2021 by the Advancing Innovation in Adult Education project for its innovative approaches to modeling effective integrated education and training (IET) programs, transitioning adult learners from adult basic education to postsecondary education or training, and increasing access to adult education services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students in Nash Community College&#8217;s High School Equivalency Boot Camp recently participated in Transition Day to learn about admissions into NCC&#8217;s degree, diploma and certificate programs.
