{"id":14426,"date":"2022-08-30T17:42:01","date_gmt":"2022-08-30T17:42:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/?p=14426"},"modified":"2022-08-30T17:42:01","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T17:42:01","slug":"covid-19-campus-exposure-reporting-requirements-and-protocols-updated-august-29-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/2022\/08\/covid-19-campus-exposure-reporting-requirements-and-protocols-updated-august-29-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Campus Exposure Reporting Requirements and Protocols: Updated August 29, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Reporting Requirements<\/h3>\n<p>NCC has established procedures for reporting COVID-19 positive cases or COVID-like symptoms via email at <a href=\"mailto:COVIDResponse@nashcc.edu\">COVIDResponse@nashcc.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Procedures<\/h3>\n<p><strong>What should you do if you have tested positive for COVID-19, have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, or are experiencing COVID-like symptoms?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stay home if you are sick.<\/strong>\u00a0Immediately notify all of your instructor(s) and\/or supervisor(s) of your COVID status so they can understand why you are absent and so they can set a plan to work with you while you may be out. Be sure to continue working on any of your assignments while you are away if you are feeling well enough, to keep up with your classes and make it easier for you to catch up when you return.<\/p>\n<p>Unless you have already received a positive COVID-19 test result, do not schedule a test any sooner than five (5) days after your onset of COVID-like symptoms or known exposure to someone with COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Students and employees should self-report their COVID-19 status via email to\u00a0COVIDResponse@nashcc.edu, containing as much information as possible (at a minimum, this email should include the student or employee\u2019s name, college ID number and\/or college email address and whether the situation involves a positive COVID19 test result or COVID-like symptoms).<\/p>\n<p>Expect to receive an email reply from\u00a0COVIDResponse@nashcc.edu with current COVID protocols for a safe return to campus. Please follow the protocol that pertains to your COVID status. If you have any questions, please send them by replying to this email.<\/p>\n<p>**COVID-19 protocol at Nash Community College is subject to change.**<\/p>\n<h3>Possible Exposure (new CDC guidelines August 2022)<\/h3>\n<p><strong>If you have had:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contact of less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer with an individual who has symptoms<\/li>\n<li>Contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 (laboratory-confirmed) but has not had any symptoms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What to do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quarantining is not required.<\/li>\n<li>Wear a high-quality mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5. If positive, follow protocols listed below.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Positive Test but No Symptoms<\/h3>\n<p><strong>If you have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Been tested for COVID-19 by a healthcare professional and received a positive diagnosis<br \/>\nregardless of vaccination status but are currently not experiencing symptoms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What to do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Report diagnosis to your instructor (if you are a student) or to your supervisor (if you are an<br \/>\nemployee) immediately.<\/li>\n<li>The CDC guidelines recommend that you isolate yourself from others for 5 days, and then<br \/>\nwear a mask for 5 additional days when you return to normal activities.<\/li>\n<li>Follow your healthcare provider\u2019s directions for follow-up testing and CDC guidelines for<br \/>\nmonitoring your symptoms. (Monitoring includes watching for symptoms and checking your<br \/>\ntemperature every twelve hours)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Positive Test with Symptoms<\/h3>\n<p><strong>If you have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Been tested for COVID-19 by a healthcare professional and received a positive diagnosis<br \/>\nregardless of vaccination status and are currently experiencing symptoms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What to do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Report diagnosis to your instructor (if you are a student) or to your supervisor (if you are an<br \/>\nemployee) immediately.<\/li>\n<li>CDC guidelines recommend that you isolate yourself from others until you are fever-free and<br \/>\nsymptoms are improving (without fever for 24 hours).\u00a0 You should isolate for at least 5 days<br \/>\nsince your symptoms began.<\/li>\n<li>Once you stop isolating, you should wear a mask for 5 additional days.<\/li>\n<li>Follow your healthcare provider\u2019s directions for treatment of your symptoms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Negative Test with Symptoms<\/h3>\n<p><strong>If you have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Been tested for COVID-19 by a healthcare professional and received a negative diagnosis<br \/>\nand are currently experiencing symptoms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What to do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Report symptoms to your instructor (if you are a student) or to your supervisor (if you are an<br \/>\nemployee) immediately.<\/li>\n<li>Stay away from campus until your symptoms have improved and you are without fever for 24<br \/>\nhours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are sick, please stay home.<\/li>\n<li>Students and employees will immediately notify their Instructors or supervisors of their<br \/>\nabsence.<\/li>\n<li>Students and employees will self-report a positive COVID test result using the<br \/>\nCOVIDresponse@nashcc.edu email to receive guidance.<\/li>\n<li>NCC\u2019s COVID Response will reply with the current NCC COVID protocols.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reporting Requirements NCC has established procedures for reporting COVID-19 positive cases or COVID-like symptoms via email at COVIDResponse@nashcc.edu.
