County leaders visited the Student Success Center, Nursing and Veterinary Medical Technician Departments, as well as several areas in the Continuing Education Building.<span class=\"gmail_default\">\u00a0<\/span>These areas included the Truck Driving Simulator, Fire Academy\u00a0<span class=\"gmail_default\">t<\/span>raining, Emergency Management classroom, and the Emergency Medical Services classroom<span class=\"gmail_default\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cWe remain very proud of\u00a0<span class=\"gmail_default\">our<\/span>\u00a0partnership\u00a0<span class=\"gmail_default\">with<\/span>\u00a0Nash County<span class=\"gmail_default\">,&#8221; NCC President Lew Hunnicutt said.<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"gmail_default\">&#8220;<\/span>The County is much more than just a critical funding partner,<span class=\"gmail_default\">\u00a0but a tremendous partner in local workforce and economic development. I<\/span>t was a pleasure to show officials some of the bang for the county buck provided back to Nash Count<span class=\"gmail_default\">y on the college&#8217;s campus.<\/span>\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span class=\"gmail_default\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"gmail_default\">In the EMS classroom, Shatzer and\u00a0Davis\u00a0<\/span>viewed a demonstration of the in-classroom ambulance simulator \u201cSimRig\u201d and high-fidelity training mannequin.\u00a0The high-fidelity simulation mannequin incorporates computer hardware that can be programmed to allow EMS students to practice and respond to a variety of scenarios replicating what they will encounter in the real world. NCC\u2019s training is tailored to meet the needs of students in degree and continuing education EMT, Advanced EMT and Paramedic programs.<\/p>\n<p>The simulator also provides tailored training specific to treatment areas identified as critical by local peer review committees and serves local agencies&#8217; needs for skill enhancement.
