Nash Community College’s Veterinary Medical Technology (VMT) program Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (SCNAVTA) recently hosted an adoption event on March 18 with the Nash County Animal Shelter.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

Nash County Animal Services brought a dozen dogs ready for adoption using the county’s mobile unit, allowing the public to interact with the animals before making their decision. Eight dogs were adopted from the event.<\/p>\n

VMT program students joining the student chapter must develop activities for their community service projects.<\/p>\n

In addition to the event, the VMT program asked for donations to rescue cats and dogs of the Wilson County Humane Society (WHCS). This organization works closely with program students, where they get the opportunity to provide care for the animals while gaining essential skills needed to become registered veterinary technicians once they graduate.<\/p>\n

Students presented WCHS with a cash donation and other donated essential items on April 5.<\/p>\n

Donations included cat food, treats, litter, blankets, toys, beds, food and water bowls, litter boxes and other essential items.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
