Nash Community College will host an outreach program sponsored by the NCC Library. The program will take place throughout the summer (June and July) on Tuesdays and Fridays in the library from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., starting June 2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Please note that during the week of July 4, the program will not operate due to college closure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis library programs support literacy and our goals at NCC for meaningful outreach to K-12 students, parents and teachers,\u201d said Dr. Lew K. Hunnicutt, president of NCC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n All children in Nash County Elementary and Middle Schools (public, private, home-school, and charter) are invited to attend and must be accompanied by an adult.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn events like these, like throughout the entire year, we lean heavily on our partnership with Nash County Public Schools as they help us to promote these valuable programs to our young students in the community,\u201d said Dr. Hunnicutt. \u201cMembers of NCPS continue to help encourage students and their families to attend events and capitalize on many unique opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n NCC Faculty and Staff members have volunteered to read select stories to the children who attend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cOur Team Nash members are strategic in their books as the goal is to provide the students with a reading that connects in some way to an NCC program of study, degree, diploma or certificate,\u201d said Robert James, Associate Library Director of NCC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Students can expect several NCC-branded swag for visiting the library and participating in the program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Parents are encouraged to speak with their children\u2019s school or NCC Library at\u00a0 ncclibrary@nashcc.edu or 252-451-8428 for more information on how to get involved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Nash Community College will host an outreach program sponsored by the NCC Library.
