{"id":15328,"date":"2023-10-16T09:30:48","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T13:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/?p=15328"},"modified":"2023-09-29T10:22:49","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T14:22:49","slug":"nash-community-college-skillsusa-to-host-pumpkin-carving-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/2023\/10\/nash-community-college-skillsusa-to-host-pumpkin-carving-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"Nash Community College SkillsUSA to Host Pumpkin Carving Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nash Community College SkillsUSA Chapter will host a Pumpkin Carving contest on Oct 20 from 10 a.m. to noon.<\/p>\n<p>The contest is to select one pumpkin representing NCC in the larger Pumpkin Carving Contest being held by SkillsUSA NC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe easiest to select what I know will be a hard decision is to have a contest where our members will submit their best work,\u201d said NCC SkillsUSA President Adrienne Williamson.<\/p>\n<p>Participants include chapter members of NCC SkillsUSA. Specifically, students enrolled in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. \u201cThose competing will carve and\/or decorate their pumpkin to represent their defined CTE area,\u201d said Williamson.<\/p>\n<p>NCC Faculty and Staff members have been selected as judges, including a representative from the NCC President\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be named. 2nd and 3rd place winners will win items donated by the NCC Student Government Association, and the 1st place winner will receive NCC Campus Store credit.<\/p>\n<p>This event is not open to the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nash Community College SkillsUSA Chapter will host a Pumpkin Carving contest on Oct 20 from 10 a.m. to noon.
