Nash Community College is holding its spring semester enrollment and admissions event on Monday, Oct. 23. Nighthawk Enrollment Day will be held in the Brown Auditorium on campus from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThis enrollment and registration event is a full day for new and prospective students to receive complete step-by-step help throughout the registration process, hoping to register for classes on the same day,\u201d said K.J. Askew, the college\u2019s director of marketing and strategic engagement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The event will include areas for admissions, financial aid, academic records, advising, student engagement and payment plan options. Students can expect residency forms, applications for NCC Foundation scholarships, information about placement testing and getting answers to whatever college-related questions come to mind. Students will have the opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from the Student Government Association as well as SkillsUSA officers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe realize that things like College Foundation of North Carolina\u00a0<\/em>documents and financial aid are intimidating things, and we want to ensure that we are taking every measure to help students succeed,\u201d said Wendy Cook, dean of student enrollment services at NCC. \u201cThis is a one-stop enrollment event for anyone interested in attending Nash Community College in the future or to continue their enrollment from the fall. This event is also for students who have attended Nash Community college in the past and would like to come back.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Askew said students should ensure they have submitted a residency application and an application to attend NCC by Oct. 16 for the best results in registering for classes and to receive the most effective assistance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cProspective students could apply on the same day and still be registered, but they must have a fully sealed (unopened) transcript from all of their prior educational institutions for NCC admission,\u201d Askew said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Cook said the event allows students to meet officials from all areas of campus in one place. New students can ensure that they have submitted all their documentation for admissions and financial aid. They will be able to learn about resources like Singlestop and Career Placement. Students will meet with their advisors and register for courses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cProspective students who are interested in learning more about the offerings Nash Community College are also welcome to attend,\u201d Cook said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
