AVID is a global nonprofit organization with a mission of closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other opportunities. Her speech focused on her experience using teaching strategies to help engage students in the classroom and assist with retention of material and retention of students. Nash Community College has partnered with AVID Higher\u00a0Education for three years to provide professional development to staff and\u00a0faculty.
