Golfers have a choice to tee off October 8th at 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. at Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount for a day of challenging fun, while providing scholarships for deserving college students. Registration begins at 7 a.m. All proceeds from the golf classic will provide student scholarships and support the needs of Nash Community College.<\/p>\n<p>The format for this year\u2019s tournament will be Captain&#8217;s Choice. Each member of the team plays a drive from the tee box. The best drive is chosen by the team. From that spot, each golfer plays and continues to play his or her own ball until the hole is completed. The team marks the best score. Prizes will be awarded to each flight\u2019s first and second-place teams. This year\u2019s grand tournament sponsors are Autumn Care of Nash, Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant, Oakley-Collier Architects, P.A., MBM, Sandy Cross Consultant Service, Inc., ZynBit, Institutional Interiors, Inc., Franklin Street Partners,Roger G. Taylor &amp; Associates\u00a0and North Carolina\u2019s Electric Cooperatives. Golf carts are sponsored by McLane. 2015 Hospitality and Event Contributors are Benvenue Country Club, Carolina Eagle Budweiser, Inc., Davenport Autopark, North Carolina&#8217;s Electric Cooperatives and Speight\u2019s Trophy Shop.<\/p>\n<p>Golfers participating in the 26th Annual Nash Community College Foundation Student Scholarship Golf Classic will have a chance to win a 2015\u00a0Buick Encore\u00a0as a hole-in-one prize sponsored by Davenport Autopark. Additional prizes will be awarded for closest-to-the-pin and the longest drives. Raffles and door prize drawings will give golfers an opportunity to win many other items donated by area businesses and individuals.
