This year\u2019s recipient was the FOCUS team. Nash Community College established a First Year Experience program called FOCUS (Fostering Opportunity, Cultivating Unparalleled Success) in 2010 to prepare students for the transition into the demands and expectations of college and empower them to achieve greater success.\u00a0 The approach for achieving these goals is through a first year seminar course, ACA 115 Success &amp; Study Skills and ACA 122 College Transfer Success. The program has served over 2,500 students to date and is required for all degree seeking students. In recognition of FOCUS\u2019 growth and success in impacting student learning and enhancing the\u00a0student-centered culture at the College, the team of ACA and FOCUS faculty received the President&#8217;s prestigious award.
