The Emergency Dispatch Academy features instructor led lectures, hands-on learning with a dispatch console, opportunities to participate in real life scenarios while learning essential techniques in multi-tasking, and written assessments such as quizzes, module exams and a final exam. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to effectively operate in a\u00a0critical\u00a0role within an Emergency 911 Center and able to function as vital link in the Emergency Response field.\u00a0Students must have earned\u00a0a High School Diploma or equivalency\u00a0and successfully complete a reading comprehension placement test prior to taking the class.<\/p>\n

Nurse Aide I students upon graduation are equipped with basic nursing skills needed to provide care for patients, residents and clients in a health care setting. Skills acquired are those in communication, safety, patients’ rights, vitals, rehabilitation, mental health and more. Graduates of the Nurse Aide I program are eligible for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP).<\/p>\n

Students graduating from the College’s Nurse Aide II program are prepared to perform more complex skills for patients and residents regardless of setting.
