The small, front-yard book exchanges exist in approximately 36,000 locations in 70 countries\u2014from Iceland to Tasmania to Pakistan. Now, Nash Community College has joined the movement to share books, bring people together and grow communities of readers with an on-site\u00a0Little Free Library.<\/p>\n<p>Located in front of the Betsy B. Currin Child Development Center, the free standing free library\u00a0is open for community members to enjoy.\u00a0The &#8216;take a book, leave a book&#8217; model creates a dynamic collection with choices for everyone extending the scope and reach of the college&#8217;s Library. Additional donations of new and gently used books can be dropped off inside the Nash Community College Library.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With the location of the new Little Free Library in front of the Child Development Center, local children, families and Early Childhood Education students are taking the opportunity to read and trade books. This is a fun way to engage our community in reading,&#8221; Angela Nieves, director of the center and co-director of the NCC Early Childhood Education program shared.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Little Free Library\u00a0nonprofit organization has been honored by the Library of Congress, the National Book Foundation, and the American Library Association.
