Participation helps students excel through educational programs, leadership opportunities, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE). NCC students enrolled in Welding, Industrial Systems Technology, Cosmetology, Medical Assisting, Computer-Integrated Machining, Culinary Arts, and Criminal Justice programs are invited to be part of the NCC SkillsUSA Chapter which received its charter in September 2016.<\/p>\n<p>At the State Conference, NCC was recognized with the Quality Chapter Award, and honored for having the largest post secondary chapter membership in North Carolina. The Chapter also earned the 100 Club Award for having more than 100 members. Each student member of the NCC chapter board was selected as an outstanding contributor for their contributions towards establishing and running the largest chapter in only a few short months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach year, SkillsUSA North Carolina presents its prestigious Champion Award to an individual from education or industry who has shown, through their actions, that they understand the value of SkillsUSA in transforming the lives of students and preparing America&#8217;s future workforce,\u201d Peyton Holland, SkillsUSA North Carolina Executive Director said.
