The organization promotes an intellectual climate with the exchange of ideas and ideals for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for membership in Phi Theta Kappa, students must have completed a minimum of twelve semester hours of non-developmental coursework and must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. To maintain membership, the student must continue high academic achievement throughout enrollment.<\/p>\n<p>Kabryn Mattison, 2015 NCC Associate of Science degree in College Transfer alumna, was the guest speaker. While at Nash, she served as a Nash Community College Ambassador, President of the NCC Math and Science Club and Treasurer of Phi Theta Kappa. She earned NCC\u2019s Excellence Award in the Associate in Science program and graduated with honors.
