Law enforcement officers from Nash County Sheriff’s Office, Nashville Police Department, and Rocky Mount Police Department recently completed Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training at Nash Community College. CIT is a 40-hour training designed to assist law enforcement officers who respond to incidents involving individuals with a mental health or substance use crisis, or intellectual and developmental disabilities.<\/p>\n

The CIT Program is a community-based collaboration between Nash Community College, individuals in recovery, families, the behavioral health system, law enforcement agencies, mental health providers, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), consumer advocacy organizations and the medical community.<\/p>\n
