The short documentary highlights a group of unflinching first responders who risk their lives to rescue victims from the rubble as daily airstrikes pound civilian targets in Syria.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8754\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DSC_0042-1024x722.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DSC_0042-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DSC_0042-150x106.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DSC_0042-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DSC_0042-768x542.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nashccnews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DSC_0042.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Students in Nash Community College\u2019s Global Scholars Program are developing global competencies and skills needed to be successful in today\u2019s economy. Now in its third year, through scholarship and experiential learning, the program focuses on instilling what it means to be a global citizen and how students can apply this knowledge to their academic and professional endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion of all program requirements, NCC students earn the identification of \u201cGlobal Scholar\u201d on their NCC transcript and receive special regalia to wear at commencement exercises.<br \/>\nThe Global Scholars Program is a collaboration between NCC and UNC World View<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nash Community College\u2019s Global Scholars Program kicked off its Spring Semester Global Events this week with the \u201cConflicts and Casualties \u2013 Syria\u201d Film Series.
