College Holds Engineering Roundup

On Friday, September 23, 2016 the Mathematics Department hosted an Engineering Roundup in preparation for the launch of the new Associate in Engineering Degree. Representatives from the East Carolina University and North Carolina State University’s Engineering Departments shared information about admission requirements, academic expectations, internship and co-op opportunities, and campus life with about a dozen potential Nash Community College Associate in Engineering students. The Mathematics Department also invited professional engineers and alumni to come and speak about their experience working in the Engineering field and transitioning to a four-year school. These special guests included: Donald Perry, NCC Alumnus & Stormwater Engineer for the City of Rocky Mount; Daniel Long, NCC Alumnus & Design Engineer 1 for OPW Retail Fueling; Omar Allan, NCC Alumnus & current Engineering student at NCSU.
