Students Graduate from Emergency Services Academy

EMT-Fire-Graduation_Group1“When you learn something new, at a fire school or class, a new technique or technological advancement, the operation of a new piece of equipment, critiquing the response to a previous call, or the development of a new policy, learn all that you can and share it with others,” Assistant Director of Fire and Emergency Management at
Nash County Emergency Service, Brent Fisher, told Nash Community College graduates.

On January 27, 2015, 12 students were recognized for completing the firefighter or EMT programs during the Emergency Services Academy Graduation Ceremony. The students participated in 790 hours of firefighter certification training and approximately 300 hours of emergency medical training through the two classes beginning in July and October 2014. Upon graduation, they receive certification in firefighting, technical rescue, rapid intervention, emergency vehicle driver, the National Incident Management System, Child Passenger Safety Seat Technician, emergency medical and career preparedness.

“Do not ever let your training stop. I challenge you tonight to continue to learn and train every day,” Fisher urged the graduates. “Join fire service associations and start networking with others in your profession. You will not only continue to learn through these associations but you will meet others who have tremendous amounts of experience on the fire ground, leadership, and department operations.”
