NCC Announces Recruit Firefighter Academy Graduates

Six graduates were recently recognized for completing Nash Community College’s Recruit Firefighter Academy. The program is designed to provide individuals with the information and skills needed to become a firefighter and public servant. A variety of learning experiences and training scenarios are utilized. The classes are conducted through partnerships with local departments and at training sites throughout Nash County.

Several awards were presented during the graduation ceremony. Joshua Garris received the Academic Award for acquiring the highest overall average. Garris was also selected by his peers to receive the Flame award for being the most “outstanding” recruit. The recipient of the Instructional Excellence Award was Rocky Mount Fire Department Captain Jonathan Malinowski.
