NCC Instructor Shares Teaching Strategies

Nash Community College English and Humanities Instructor Renee Martinez was selected from more than 1,200 applicants across the nation to speak at the 2015 Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Summer Institute in San Diego, California August 3-5, 2015. AVID is a global nonprofit organization with a mission of closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other opportunities. Her speech focused on her experience using teaching strategies to help engage students in the classroom and assist with retention of material and retention of students. Nash Community College has partnered with AVID Higher Education for three years to provide professional development to staff and faculty.
