NCC Adds to Seed Library

Just in time for planting season, 20 new varieties of seed have been added to the over 200 hundred varieties already offered to patrons in Nash Community College’s Seed Library. Established the summer of 2015, the seed library provides novice and master gardeners alike varieties of flower, vegetable, herb, fruit and ornamental seed at no expense. All seeds are located in the re-purposed card catalog section of the College’s library. At a limit of three packets per visit, seeds can be “checked out”, taken home and grown for the patron to enjoy. The library keeps supplies stocked for others, staff only ask that the patron save a few seeds from his or her harvest to be returned to the library and “checked in.” The seed library also offers educational gardening content via its LibGuide page accessible at www.nashcc.edu/library; including planting tips, gardening videos and a list of the current seed library inventory. All College faculty, staff, students and surrounding community members are welcome to reap the benefits of this resource and are encouraged to visit the seed library online or on campus.
