NCC and NRMPS to Host Annual Showcase
On Tuesday, February 27 from 5:30-7:30pm, Nash Community College (NCC) and Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) will host sixth through twelfth grade students and their parents at the Ninth Annual Career & Technical Education Open House in the NCC Business and Industry Center. The event is free and everyone is welcome.
During the showcase, attendees will explore classes that can be taken in Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools that align with classes and programs offered at Nash Community College. Industry partners will be in attendance to answer questions and provide information about local career options. The event will give students and parents an opportunity to learn more about the college application process, financial aid, academic programs, careers and more. Hands-on demonstrations throughout campus will engage students and parents.
“Each year, parents and students take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about how students can begin preparing for a successful future early on. Through longstanding partnerships between Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools, area employers, parents, students and the College, we can engage young learners as they consider the world ahead. Many students who attend this event will be exposed to areas of study and employment they may not even know exist,” NCC Career Pathways & Transition Coordinator, Wil van der Meulen said.
