NCC Students Win Awards at SkillsUSA National Conference
Nash Community College SkillsUSA members competed and won awards during the 54th Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 25-29, 2018, in Louisville, KY. NCC competing for the first time in the Technical Computer Applications category won first place for Nationals after placing first in the state.
NCC’s final national results: Heather Poythress, 1st in Technical Computer Applications; Celeste Powell, Brandy Davis, Gabrielle Simmons, 6th in Career Pathways Showcase; and Emanuel Castaneda, 32nd in Welding. Great job by all NCC students and advisers.

Nash Community College’s chapter was chartered during the Spring 2017 Semester signifying the partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to promote a highly skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel by providing educational programs, leadership opportunities, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE).
