NCC Plans Bounty & Barrel Food and Wine Event

Debbie Kornegay

Make plans to join Debbie’s Fund and Nash Community College for Bounty and Barrel on Thursday, November 14 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the college’s Business and Industry Center.

Debbie’s Fund was established as a memorial tribute to Debbie Kornegay, her legacy, passion for cooking, ministry of service, and commitment to education, and has impacted many lives throughout North Carolina.

Sponsored by On the Square of Tarboro, Bounty and Barrel will begin promptly with an educational wine pairing provided by owner Inez Ribustello.

Attendees will sample five carefully selected wines, while enjoying a culinary showcase featuring North Carolina Shrimp & Grits, Braised Beef Ribs, Ragu di Corte, Chicken Shawarma Skewers and Braised Japanese Eggplant with a passed dessert of Glazed Nash Blueberry Cake Waffles prepared and served by NCC Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management students.

Join friends, family, and the community at this one-of-a-kind event. Take time to browse Debbie’s hand-crafted pottery creations and bid during the silent auction in support of Debbie’s Fund and Nash Community College’s Culinary Arts program.

“We were overwhelmed by the response for the first Bounty & Barrel event held in 2017,” Bob Kornegay said. “Debbie would be delighted to know the community is gathering again to celebrate the goodness of North Carolina, and our region, in one location.”

The Nash Community College Foundation and Debbie’s Fund raised more than $18,000 at the 2017 Bounty & Barrel which featured seasonal fare, and a barrel-aged spirits tasting.

All proceeds will equally benefit Debbie’s Fund and the Nash Community College Culinary Arts program.

Individual admission is $80. Table sponsorship is available for $1,000, or sponsor a food station for $1,200. Admission for eight is included in sponsorship.
