Students Meet Engineering Alumna

Jessica Trueblood, Nash Community College alumna, spoke with current NCC students on Thursday, March 12, 2020 about her experience as a transfer student. Jessica graduated from NCC’s Associate in Science and Associate in Engineering programs in 2018 and 2019, respectively. She is a sophomore in the Biomedical Engineering program at North Carolina State University.

Last summer, Jessica was selected for the Phenotypic Plasticity Research Experience for Community College Students (PRECS). A collaboration between the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Parkland College, the program is an opportunity for 10 community college students to conduct research for 10 weeks during the summer.
Jessica discussed her experiences with NCC students and explained how she prepared as an NCC student for the summer research experience and the biomedical engineering program at NCSU.
The NCC STEM Club hosts “Meet the Scientist” events each semester for current students to learn about the transfer and research experiences of NCC graduates.
