Alumni Association Spotlight: Amberleigh Dornseif

Nash Community College alumna Amberleigh Dornseif of Nashville, NC has been accepted for admission to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill this fall.

“Attending Nash my first two years has been beneficial to me for several reasons,” Dornseif said. “The biggest one is that deep down I knew I wasn’t quite ready to move away from my hometown. The second more important reason was that I saved my parents a lot of money.”

A 2018 graduate of Southern Nash High School, Amberleigh Dornseif enrolled at NCC after completing an Associate in Science pathway through the Career and College Promise program.

At NCC, she was president of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Amberleigh served as Student Government Association president and student trustee for the 2019 academic year.

“Nash Community College is full of the most inspiring people I have ever met,” she said. “I have made friends with students from around the corner and from other states. Having the privilege of serving has allowed me opportunities to connect with people I may not have otherwise known.”

Amberleigh looks forward to pursuing a Business Administration degree at UNC-CH. She hopes to ultimately be accepted into dental school in order to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming an orthodontist.

Amberleigh is employed at NCC as Student and Enrollment Specialist.
