Electric Line Construction Academy Students Complete Program

Nash Community College’s Electric Line Construction Academy students participated in their annual end of semester rodeo Thursday, June 4, 2020. The event allows students to showcase their skills in protected grounding, climbing obstacles and hurt man rescue techniques.

With the extension of the Spring Semester, students were able to complete Underground I and Overhead I training allowing 26 graduates to earn their Electric Line Construction Certificates in Third Class & Underground. Three additional students earned Underground Certificates.

Seven students made commitments to begin their careers with Precision Network, Inc., Halifax EMC, Carolina Power & Signalization and MasTec. Usually NCC’s career signing day event is a big part of the student’s annual rodeo. This year companies came at different times during on-campus instruction to welcome their new employees.
