NCC Foundation Community Campaign Supports Student Scholarships

The Nash Community College Foundation Board of Directors completed a successful community campaign raising more than $411,000 from March through the end of June 2020. Led by the NCC Foundation’s volunteer board, the annual campaign supports instructional needs and deserving students seeking financial assistance with their college expenses.

NCC Mathematics Department Chair and Professor Dina Pitt served as 2019-2020 NCC Foundation President. “Without question, the financial support donors so selflessly provide is vitally important for individuals who simply need a chance to prove they can compete academically with the best and the brightest, a chance to demonstrate they can master trades and acquire skills necessary for today’s demanding workforce,” Pitt said.

“Many of our graduates remain in the local area where they purchase cars and homes, start businesses and contribute to our economy and quality of life,” Pitt continued. “Most importantly, they gain critical skills to better their employment opportunities while laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

The Nash Community College Foundation, Inc. was established in 1983 to increase community awareness, raise funds for the student scholarship program, and to help meet the needs of Nash Community College. The NCC Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt, nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization.

“Our donors’ endorsement of the work we do here and the role the college plays in the community is very evident through ongoing financial support,” NCC Vice President of Advancement and Foundation Executive Director Pam Ballew said. “I am proud of the work of Team Nash, our Foundation Board and the NCC Board of Trustees for their contributions and their encouragement of others in making gifts.”
