Bench Dedicated in Memory of Longtime NCC Supporter

The Nash Community College Foundation has dedicated a bench in memory of former NCC Trustee, Bobbye May.

The bench, located near Building A on the college campus, was given by May’s children, Mary Jean May Hunt and Bruce May, and NCC President Emeritus, Dr. J. Reid Parrott, Jr.

Formerly of Red Oak, Bobbye May served 25 years on the Nash Community College Board of Trustees from 1981 until 2006 and in the roles of Board Chair and NCC Foundation director. She was employed as a legal assistant at Fields and Cooper.

During her leadership at NCC, she was honored with the President’s Cup in 2002 by President Kathy Johnson. As the College’s most prestigious award, the recognition is given annually to an individual or group who has made an indelible mark on NCC’s programs.

May passed away in 2018 at the age of 90.
