The Nash Community College Foundation has announced Paul and Elaine Jaber of Rocky Mount have established the Jaber Family College Support Fund. The fund serves as a demonstration of their commitment to educational opportunities in Nash County.

Mr. Jaber has a history of service to Nash Community College. He was first appointed to the Nash Community College Board Trustees by Governor Mike Easley in 2007 and has been re-appointed four times. His current term of service expires in 2024.

Jaber served as Board Chair from 2017 to 2020. During his time as chair, the college completed construction on two new buildings housing advanced manufacturing and cosmetology. In addition, the college space was renovated to house the new Veterinary Medical Technology degree program. Jaber also presided over the selection process for the hiring of NCC’s fifth president in 2019. He has devoted numerous hours of service toward the college’s reaccreditation.

The Jaber family has been stalwart supporters of the college by promoting its activities and attending many college functions. In 2018, Mr. Jaber joined the NCC Foundation Board of Directors and served as president. He has been instrumental in ensuring the growth of the Foundation’s endowment and the establishment of many scholarships.

The Jaber family’s history of philanthropy includes their role in establishing the Henry Gregory Scholarship, the William Roger Waters Scholarship, and the naming of the William Roger Waters Robotics Lab in the advanced manufacturing building.

The primary focus of the new Jaber Family College Support Fund is to provide financial assistance for professional development activities for Nash Community College employees.
