NCC Honor Society Receives National Recognition

The national headquarters of the Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society has announced Nash Community College is among its 2020 – 2021 Distinguished Chapters. This national recognition puts chapters into the spotlight who have gone above and beyond the call of duty regarding programs, recruitment campaigns, service projects, monthly meetings, chapter leadership, and local impact.

A non-profit, co-educational, honor and service organization for students in colleges and universities, Gamma Beta Phi, recognizes excellence in education promoting the development of leadership skills, character, and service. To be eligible for Gamma Beta Phi, students must hold a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and must have earned 12 or more semester hours in a major at Nash Community College.

Gamma Beta Phi has approximately 40,000 active student members nationally in its comprised chapters. Members are committed to conducting themselves with the highest ideals of honesty, service, industriousness, humility, justice, cooperation, responsibility, and charitableness while promoting scholarship, service, and character.

From now through November 23, 2021, members of the NCC chapter are holding a toy drive and coat drive for My Sister’s House. Each December, the group provides holiday cheer by “adopting” residents at Trinity Villas in Nashville. To donate toys or new or gently used coats, or for more information, please call 252-451-8472.
