Goat Island Bottle Shop Establishes New NCC Scholarship

Travis and Kristi Ellis, owners of Goat Island Bottle Shop, have established a new scholarship at Nash Community College.
The Goat Island Bottle Shop Scholarship supports the entrepreneurs’ desire to assist local students preparing to enter the hospitality field. The scholarship will be awarded in 2022 to a student enrolled in the NCC Hospitality Management program.

The program’s curriculum prepares graduates with the practical skills needed for supervisory and managerial positions in hotels, restaurants and other hospitality institutions with coursework in guest services, leadership, management, restaurant operations, lodging operations, marketing, and other critical areas of study.

Goat Island Bottle Shop opened as the first business of its kind in Rocky Mount in 2017. Named after the Tar River island that sits behind the Rocky Mount Mills location, Goat Island has 11 rotating taps and is known for keeping Rocky Mount’s taste buds up to date on the latest craft beer brews.
