NCC Students to Present “Almost, Maine”

The Nash Community College Drama Players and Studio 67 will present “Almost, Maine” for their spring production. Tickets go on sale March 1, 2023 through Eventbrite for show-only performances on March 31 at 7:00 PM and April 2 at 2:30 PM and a dinner theatre on April 1 beginning at 5:00 PM.

AlmostMaine is a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of AlmostMaine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

According to the NY Times, “ALMOSTMAINE is a series of nine amiably absurdist vignettes about love, with a touch of good-natured magic realism…witty, romantic, unsentimental. A beautifully structured play, with nifty surprise endings (most but not all of them happy).”
Tickets for the show-only performances are $10 each for general admission and $8 for students. Dinner theater tickets are $30 each. Special thanks to the Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management and Broadcasting and Production Technology programs for their support of the production.
