Community Event to Highlight Short-Term Training Opportunities for Local Careers

Many Nash Community College programs provide short-term training for individuals interested in advancing or beginning a career with 12 months or less training. On Thursday, May 19 from 5:00-7:00 PM, the college will host a Career in a Year Open House for community members of all ages to learn more about NCC’s program offerings. The event will be held on the south end of campus at the Continuing Education and Public Services Building.

From children to adults, there will be engaging activities for all. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiences and program demonstrations, meet local employers and take advantage of on-site enrollment. Plus, enjoy live music by Chandler James, dinner from Fancy Faye’s food truck and Scoopy Dippy Doo Ice Cream, tour facilities, try out public safety training simulators, a selfie station and photo booth, and touch, tour and explore first responder vehicles. Learn about the robotic welder, what a career in cosmetology entails, and see machines at work.
