NCC Students Awarded SECU Continuing Education Scholarships

Nash Community College has been selected to participate in the 2022-2023 SECU (State Employees Credit Union) Bridge to Career Program to support Continuing Education student scholarships.

The college is being awarded $18,000 that will be used over the next year to fund 30 scholarships and related administrative expenses.

The SECU Foundation Bridge to Career program supports North Carolina community college students seeking to obtain state-regulated or industry-recognized credentials through the Continuing Education department that lead to sustainable wage careers in the local community.

“We are so grateful that the SECU Foundation has chosen to invest in communities across the state in this way,” Carla Dunston, Dean of Continuing Education said. “We are pleased to be able to partner with them to help remove barriers for our students working toward enhancing their skills through credential attainment.”

SECU Bridge to Career Program focuses on assisting unemployed and underemployed adults, military veterans and members of the National Guard in obtaining marketable job skills.
