NCC Employee Giving Campaign at 100% Participation

Nash Community College’s Foundation has wrapped up its 2016-2017 employee campaign with 100 percent of faculty and staff donating to student scholarships. “As we head into the College’s fiftieth year, I am humbled to know that every employee made a contribution to this campaign,” Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director Pam Ballew said. The Foundation’s employee campaign raised $38,102 for deserving students in need to pursue their educational dreams.

Students come to Nash Community College to work towards a degree or develop a skill-set to better themselves and improve the quality of life for their families. Many graduate and contribute to the local workforce and economy and are where they are today because of a Nash Community College Foundation Scholarship.

Money raised during the Employee Campaign provides critical resources for need-based and merit-based scholarships. More people than ever are turning to Nash Community College to explore educational opportunities and ensure a solid future.

“Obviously this speaks volumes to our community who plays an integral role in our success as the community’s college. With every employee committed to supporting students financially, our faculty and staff are showing their devotion to our students,” Ballew said. “We often refer to the term ‘Blue Love’ on our campus and this is a tangible demonstration of the campus meeting students where they are.”

Individuals considering a year-end charitable gift may wish to give the “gift of education” and can be assured they are making a lasting impact. Donations of any size can be made in honor or in memory of a special friend or family member. The NCC Foundation will send a personalized notice informing the person of the thoughtful gift. Though the College’s tuition is considered to be reasonable, scholarships are critical to helping many students who wish to attend college but have very limited resources. Nash Community College receives hundreds of scholarship applications each year but is only able to assist a limited number of students.

The Nash Community College Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt, 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization.
