NCC Summer Programs Help Prepare Students for College

Nash Community College is offering two programs this summer to help prepare high school students and recent graduates for college life.

The Summer Bridge program is a 15-day intensive summer course offered at NCC Mondays – Thursdays: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM and Fridays: 8:30 AM – 10:45 AM from July 11 through July 31, 2018.

Summer Bridge participants will have an opportunity to earn college credit for taking ACA 122, the College Transfer Success course, and will participate in English and Math seminars to refresh the skills necessary to succeed in college level courses.

Guest speakers will explain the various programs and opportunities offered at Nash Community College and students will explore campus life and extracurricular activities that enhance the NCC student experience.

The early bird registration fee is $85 until May 18. After that, the fee increases to $100. This fee covers the college course, seminars, and guest speakers. Need-based scholarships are available. The deadline to register is June 27th. Orientation will be held July 10, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Nash Community College. To register, visit www.nashcc.edu/summerbridge.

NCC is also offering Career and College Promise Summer Boot Camp for rising high school juniors and seniors interested in getting a head start on college courses. Through Career & College Promise, qualified high-school-age students have the opportunity to begin their college education, tuition free.

The camp will meet July 10th, 12th, 17th, 19th, & 24th from 6:00-8:30 PM at Nash Community College. The fee to participate is $65. Register for Boot Camp and other summer youth programs in the NCC Continuing Education Department or online at www.nashcc.edu/summercamps.

Students enrolled in Boot Camp will learn the expectations of college classes and how to navigate online resources. Boot Camp participants will explore careers, university transfer options and will learn about academic pathways. The camp is recommended for students entering the Career and College Promise program in the fall.
