Lucas Recognized as Advanced Level CISCO Instructor
Anthony Lucas
Anthony Lucas, Nash Community College Computer Information Technologies Instructor and Subject Matter Expert, was recognized as an Advanced Level CISCO Instructor by the CISCO Networking Academy for the 2019 academic year.
The award recognizes Lucas’ achievements as one of the top 25 percent of instructors globally in student feedback and performance. In addition to previous recognition as an Advanced Level CISCO Instructor, Lucas also was recognized as an Expert Level Instructor in 2015 and 2018, placing him in the top 10 percent of instructors globally in student feedback and performance.
In his role at NCC, Lucas oversees online courses in the Computer Information Technologies and Nash Online departments developing, coordinating and assisting online faculty with best practices in online course design, delivery and methodologies. He instructs students in a variety of courses in face-to-face, hybrid and online formats related to Cisco networking, cybersecurity, hardware/software support, multiple operating systems, office applications, and IT project management.
Anthony Lucas earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information and Computer Technology with Information Security concentration and a Master of Science degree in Technology Systems with Computer Network Management concentration from East Carolina University.
He is certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist – Associate (Word Expert, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Technology Associate (Windows Server Administration Fundamentals, Windows Operating Systems Fundamentals, Networking Fundamentals, Security Fundamentals, Mobility and Device Fundamentals, Cloud Fundamentals), in IC3 Digital Literacy (Key Applications, Living Online, Computing Fundamentals) and Entrepreneurship and Small Business.
Lucas was among the college’s 2020 NISOD Award recipients, and recently completed training qualifying him to teach Advanced Cybersecurity at NCC. He has been employed at the college since 2011.
