NCC Plans for 2020 Fall Semester
Like many other colleges, Nash Community College has moved to remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While times are uncertain, the college is uniquely positioned to support students who are beginning or continuing their education.
The campus philosophy of welcoming students and meeting them where they are has never been more evident. To assure every student’s continued success inside and outside of the (virtual) classroom, Team Nash works diligently to provide a productive academic experience. Extra measures are in place to help students navigate the challenges of learning during the pandemic including increased accessibility to support services such as academic advising, tutoring and free clinical counseling.
This fall, the college will continue delivering most instruction online and virtually, with few classes meeting on campus. Face-to-face instruction is limited to select courses in advanced manufacturing, health sciences, industrial and public safety programs.
New and returning students may register now for fall semester classes online or through an academic advisor. The semester begins August 17.
University and four-year college students who may not feel comfortable returning to their campus in the fall, but wish to continue their studies, are encouraged to register for NCC’s online transfer classes.
Online (OL) courses are ideal for students who wish to work remotely, at their own pace, without regular virtual class meetings. Virtual (V) courses mirror face-to-face instruction by connecting students with teachers online in real-time. Virtual classes provide the closest experience to actually being on campus.
Students who enroll in virtual courses can expect to have interaction with instructors and students, immediate feedback on questions, collaboration with other students in a virtual space, real-time group discussion and an enhanced sense of community with classmates and instructors.
Both virtual and online classes require access to a computer with reliable internet access. However, on-campus computer labs will be open in the fall with social distancing and safety practices in place.

Advising is available on campus Monday-Thursday from 8 am – 6 pm and virtual advising is available Monday – Thursday from 8 am – 6 pm, and Friday 8 am- 1 pm.
